Every coffee we carry is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilisers, so no glyphosate is used on any farm we buy from. Ethiopia Kayon and Peru Palto come from farms audited for it every year. Long Banga and Finca El Diviso tell us so, and we print it as their word.

Where we have a laboratory report, the green beans were also screened for 952 pesticide and herbicide residues and five mycotoxins: not detected. That panel does not include glyphosate, which needs its own assay, so we say it is not used rather than that we have measured it. Our Standard has the method.

Because ochratoxin A and aflatoxins can't be seen or tasted. They are by-products of the moulds that grow on green coffee during drying, transit and storage, and small amounts are common.

Ethiopia Kayon and Peru Palto went to an independent, ISO 17025 accredited laboratory before roasting, and each report is published on the coffee's page. The others have not been screened and are not scheduled to be, and their pages say so. A lot that failed would be composted. Not re-tested. Not blended into a larger lot. Composted.

Our Malaysian Liberica, from the Long Banga estate in Sarawak, grows without synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilisers. The paperwork does not exist: for a farm that small, the annual audit costs more than it returns. Malaysia's Food Regulations reserve the word organic for certified food, so we write the practice and leave the word off.

Ethiopia Kayon and Peru Palto come from certified-organic farms. The certificates are the farms', and our roastery is not a certified handler, so no tin carries a seal. We explain it in full on Our Standard.

Blending is useful for consistency. It is useless for traceability.

We sell single origin. One country. One region. One farm. One lot. One harvest. If we cannot give you all of that, we cannot tell you what was done to the coffee on the way here. We would rather tell you.

A 100g bag pours roughly six cups.

Every bag is roasted to order and posted within two working days.

The roast date is printed on the bag. Not a “best before.” Not a “packed on.” The date the beans were roasted.

Yes. Choose the selection, a size and how often. Each delivery is a single origin of our choosing, billed as it ships, from RM30 a box. It runs until you pause it, change it, or cancel it, from your account or by writing to us. Build a standing bag.

Write to us. If the bag is faulty, unfresh, or not what we promised, we replace it or refund it.

Taste is personal. If a coffee did not suit you, tell us what you thought. It helps us think about what to carry next.
