Press and facts
The short version of who we are, what we test for, and where to reach us. Figures, facts, and a line of contact for editors and writers.
A factual sheet for editors, writers, and anyone who reads labels. Everything here is verifiable. Quote freely.
What Blaq is
Blaq Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. Single-origin coffees, roasted in-house, tested for mycotoxins on the green bean before roasting. Three of the eight coffees are certified organic. Online at blaqcoffee.com.
The positioning, in one line
Specialty coffee that is mycotoxin-tested, traceable to the farm, and certified organic where the certificate exists. Sold in Malaysia and shipped to 48 countries by DHL and FedEx.
What is verifiable
- The labs. Mycotoxin testing is carried out by independent laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025.
- What is tested. The green, unroasted bean, before roasting.
- What the reports show. Not detected for ochratoxin A, aflatoxin B1, and total aflatoxins, reported against the laboratory's limit of detection.
- Where to find them. Results are published batch by batch at blaqcoffee.com/pages/lab-results, and linked on each coffee's page as its batch clears.
- Roasting. In-house, in Kuala Lumpur. Roasting is known to further reduce ochratoxin A.
- Organic status. Three of the eight coffees are certified organic: both Ethiopian lots and the Peruvian. The Malaysian Liberica is organic by practice, grown without synthetic inputs, and not certified. The rest carry no organic claim. We state each plainly and do not blur them.
- Packaging. Two formats. The 100g size ships in a polypropylene tub, resin code 5, recyclable where rigid plastics are collected and built to be washed and refilled. The 500g size ships in a single-material bag with no foil laminate, recyclable where soft plastics are collected. The shipping box is recycled board, with paper padding and paper tape inside.
What we do not claim
No health benefits. No suggestion that other coffee is unsafe. Our own framing is the whole of it. We prefer to know rather than assume.
The coffees
Eight single origins, across Ethiopia, Peru, Colombia, Panama, and Malaysia, including two Malaysian Liberica lots. Each one is traceable to a single farm and lot. Origin, process, and, as each batch clears, its lab report sit on its own product page.

A note on the founder
The brand speaks as Blaq, not as an individual. It is built on one principle. The person behind it will not sell coffee they would not drink themselves. For the record, machine-readable brand facts live on the source sheet at blaqcoffee.com/pages/llms.
