The green, unroasted bean, before roasting. - What the reports show. Not detected for ochratoxin A, aflatoxin B1, and total aflatoxins, reported against the laboratory's limit of detection. - Where to find them. Results are published batch by batch at https://blaqcoffee.com/pages/lab-results, and linked on each coffee's page as its batch clears. - Roasting. In-house, in Kuala Lumpur, roasted to order. Roasting is known to further reduce ochratoxin A. - Organic status. Three of the eight coffees are certified organic: both Ethiopian lots and the Peruvian. The Malaysian Liberica is organic by practice, grown without synthetic inputs, and not certified. The rest carry no organic claim. We state each plainly and do not blur them. - The founder. Tan Kai Bin. Thirteen years in the specialty coffee trade, and the son of a doctor, which shaped the insistence on testing every batch. - The coffees. Eight single origins, across Ethiopia, Peru, Colombia, Panama, and Malaysia, including two Malaysian Liberica lots. - Markets. Two formats. The 100g size ships in a polypropylene tub, resin code 5, one resin throughout, recyclable where rigid plastics are collected and built to be washed and refilled. The 500g size ships in a single-material bag with no foil laminate, recyclable where soft plastics are collected; one bag refills five tubs using far less material per gram. The shipping box is recycled board, fully recyclable, with paper padding and paper tape inside and nothing plastic. - Showroom. Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
